This Porch, Shed, and Log Store is a valuable and practical addition to this family garden, significantly enhancing its functionality and ensuring a much drier and more organised outdoor space, especially during the winter months.

Bike shed and storage building

A bike shed and storage building in Falmouth, designed by Sam Ludgate Bloom, to make good use of the area, while keeping the parking space and garden privacy. It has vertical panels, lockable sliding doors, and a sloping roof (client will add a green roof later). There's also a horizontal fence and wooden stairs leading to the deck, which complete the project and tie everything together.

Slatted Larch Framed Barn Front

Making this open ended barn more usable by adding a little more protection and weatherproofing in the form of a retrofitted slatted doorway. It will become an outdoor kitchen/dining area.

Douglas Fir Pergola

This bespoke pergola was made using douglas fir grown local to the project site in Cornwall. The 16 metre long feature walkway is designed to connect two sections of the garden, it features single sided ends to mirror the diagonal space that the structure sits within. Stepped into three sections, the design compensates for and creates a feature of the sloping garden. Later down the line a path will be laid and roses grown over the pergola.

Off Grid Cabin

Off-grid cabin designed, project managed by Sam, this was a fantastic project to be involved with. A mobile, trailer based cabin created using reclaimed elements alongside bespoke shell and interiors which were great to make and build.

The Piano Room

A before and after of this customers piano’s new home! Designed and build to use every inch of the space available, transforming a space in to a great place to both work and play music.

The Woodland Cabin

An 85 m² cabin with a multi-room layout. Designed with parapet walls, composite cladding and decking, secret doors and EPDM rubber roof.

The Greenhouse

Repurposing a traditional half brick greenhouse into a garden kitchen. For this project, the original glass was carefully removed and used elsewhere in the garden. A floating timber floor was installed, complete with mitre joint detailing to sympathetically instal around the original stone floor. A timber roof was installed and finished with cedar shingles.

The Oak Frame Dining Room

Made using locally grown green Oak and completed with feather edge wall, smooth decking and a valley cedar shingle clad roof.

The Larch Cabin

This larch clad building was designed with extra room in mind. Another space for the family to use that adds fluidity to a once bare garden. Created in a modern style with an emphasis on natural light. The simple interior and bi-folding doors mean this is a versatile space that can change and grow as the family does.

The Carport

This Oak cart port was designed to mirror shapes found on the exterior of the client’s house, in order to tie the two together. The cedar shingle roof and green Oak will both weather down to various shades of silvery grey whilst the underside will retain some of its warm glow.

The Weatherboarded Cabin

To add space to this property for a growing family Josh was commissioned to build a multi-use garden room. Using weatherboard cladding, to fit within the Kentish aesthetic, the building now houses a utility area, playroom and incorporates an exciting brick-walled outdoor loo. This was refurbished as part of the project and is now housed under the cedar shingle roof.

The Lean-to Oak Structure

A custom design for a client this lean-to Oak structure is complete with a cedar shingle roof. At one end it has an open-roofed area that sits above a hot tub perfect for sunny days and star-filled nights. The area was previously unused because it sits at the side of the house and was simply used for access. Now utilised and turned into an outdoor lounging area that is totally private.

The Lookout

When you have a steep garden, sometimes you have to get creative to utilise the spaces that you have. This deck was built to make use of the least sloped area of the upper garden. The main aim was to make the amazing view accessible on a daily basis. It is now well used and has become an outdoor dining and seating area where the clients family gather.
