Bespoke Oak Panelling at Porth-en-Alls
This bespoke oak panelling project was created to complement and replicate the original panelling found in The Workshop at Porth-en-Alls, bringing a sense of continuity, warmth and craftsmanship to this unique coastal property.
Working with high-quality solid oak, the panelling was carefully designed and fitted to wrap around the entire room, following the proportions of the space and sitting seamlessly between the floor-to-ceiling windows. The installation also included matching oak doors, finished with antique and salvaged hardware sourced from around the estate, adding character and a sense of history to the finished room.
A key part of the process was working with the natural qualities of the timber, carefully selecting and repairing the occasional knot to achieve a refined finish while allowing the character of the oak to remain visible. Every detail was considered, from the panel proportions to the traditional hardware, creating a room that feels both timeless and connected to its surroundings.
The result is a handcrafted interior that combines traditional joinery techniques with the natural beauty of solid oak. As the morning sun floods through the windows, the warmth and texture of the timber bring the whole space to life.
Designed and handcrafted around the character of the building, this project reflects the value of considered materials, skilled craftsmanship and interiors made to last.
